Monaco
defender, Elderson Echiejile, has been included in the French Ligue 1
Team of the Week courtesy of his goal against Reims on Friday.
Echiejile,
who has featured in only three matches for the club this season, scored
the first goal for Monaco in the 1-1 draw which saw the club to the
seventh position in the log with 18 points from 12 matches.
The
defender has however vowed to ensure that he maintains the form which
has earned his a starting place over his young French defensive
teammate, Layvin Kurzawa, who kept him on the bench for most of the
matches since joining from Sporting Braga in Portugal.
He told his official website, elderson3.com, “Good to have scored my first league goal. Always stay positive, nothing keeps you going better than being positive.
Other players in the team of the week were Florent Malouda and Modibo Maiga for Metz and Alexandre Lacazette for Lyon.
Meanwhile,
Eagles midfielder, Raheem Lawal scored his first goal for his Turkish
side, Eskisehirspor, on Monday in their 2-2 draw at Balikesirspor.
The
midfielder, who has made 19 appearances for the club, scored the
equaliser for the club to earn them the 16th position of the 18-team
league after eight matches with seven points.
Eskisehirspor have won only a game this season as they have drawn four and lost three.
